The Department

The IT Department is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's IT systems and for providing efficient desktop support to all business users. The department is also responsible for resolving any IT-related faults quickly and efficiently, including a broad range of queries from how to set up an email account to system diagnostics, plus enhancing and developing the IT provision extended within the business.

The Position

The post holder will provide effective internal IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will provide back up and support to the IT Manager. The post holder is responsible for supporting and maintaining Desktop operating systems, Servers, Telephone systems, plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software. The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities.

This role reports directly to the IT Manager.

Duties/Areas of Responsibility

Daily  checks and maintenance procedures such as ensuring backups have completed, checking logs, Server Room visual checks.

Research and identify solutions to software / hardware issues.

Resolve and escalate IT Incidents and change requests made through the IT ServiceDesk software.

Installation and configuration of new equipment ensuring that the company remains fully license compliant.

Assist with new starters / leavers and support desk moves such as PCs and Phones.

Ensuring all PC’s / Laptops / Servers are patched within required compliance time scales.

Complete IT projects set by the IT Manager and assist other departments where an IT presence is required.

Raise external support calls with key suppliers when required.

MES / ERP support and report writing.

Termination of network cables and cable runs as required. IPAF 3A/3B Training will be provided

To adhere to policies and procedures implemented by Connor Solutions.

To attend and participate in all security / awareness training programmes.

To report any non-conformance and security incidents to the ISMS manager as defined in our procedures.

Working within the requirements of applicable legislation and regulation.

Assist with the re-certification of Cyber Essentials and ISO27001.

Out of hours work maybe required to assist with project work.
